Our favorite thing about Wrightsville Beach, NC is its beauty as a true resort town. The beaches are fantastic, and there are a multitude of wonderful places to stay. With Interstate 40 ending right in Wrightsville, it's very easy to get onto the island or skip over for a day trip.

Because it's small in comparison to other beach resort towns, Wrightsville has a charm all its own. The beach itself is a 5 mile long expanse of white sand and clear blue surf, and the vacation activities here are endless.

What to do when you're "On the Island?"

Go swimming and surfing in the warm Gulf Stream waters, or travel by kayak through the quiet bays, rivers and salt marshes that wind around for miles. Get rentals for bikes and roller blades, take lessons for sailing, windsurfing and scuba diving. Enjoy a fun riverboat cruise on the Intracoastal Waterway.

Wrightsville Beach offers several excellent golf courses as well as charters for Gulf Stream fishing. Easy to find are the several upscale marinas for charters boats, fully stocked with supplies and clean shower areas. There's also a free boat ramp on Harbor Island, right between the mainland and the beach.
